Leeds Refugee Forum

Leeds Refugee Forum [LRF] is a voluntary organisation established in 2003 to act as an umbrella organisation for Refugee Community Organisations [RCOs] in Leeds. We provide structure and a collective voice for RCOs, catering to their social, educational, economic, cultural and development needs with a focus on community integration and the empowerment of its members.

LRF recruited an administrator who needed training on maintaining the financial records.  WYCAS assisted in providing the necessary training and having an overview of the organisation’s financial management.

WYCAS have also provided excellent one to one support on several financial matters including establishing cashbooks; fund analysis and administrating petty cash.  The Treasurer also received help on producing his report for the AGM.  Overall WYCAS have been there every step of the way – through to preparation and independent examination of our accounts for the report to Companies House.

We found the one to one aspect of working with WYCAS particularly useful.  It is great to work using our own records whilst training, as this makes everything more relevant.

We now have sound financial systems in place, keeping excellent financial records.  The Management Committee can now budget the organisation’s finances more efficiently and effectively.  Last but not least we have a well trained and knowledgeable bookkeeper in place, who knows where to turn when the need arises.
