Please note that this free training course is exclusively available to community groups based in West Yorkshire. This includes tenants’ and residents’ associations, registered charities and social enterprises.
Learn how to set up a basic bookkeeping system that allows you to easily record income and expenditure, as well as report on restricted and unrestricted funds.
This is a FREE 3-hour course held online, with a maximum of 4 participants. We will email you a Zoom or Teams link a few days before the event. This is an interactive session, so microphones and cameras will be on throughout.
Course Content:
- Set up the spreadsheet
- Enter transactions, with categories for income and expenditure, restricted funds, and bank and cash accounts
- Reconcile the bank balance to bank statements
- Produce finance reports for in-year reporting
We will guide you through using our in-house WYCAS cashbook (available for free download), developed over many years to provide a simple, effective system for small charitable organisations and social enterprises.
What You Will Need:
- Access to a computer with Excel software
- Basic ability to use a spreadsheet
