WYCAS CEO Changeover

WYCAS trustees are delighted to have appointed Katy Sargeant as their Acting CEO, effective from the beginning of May.

Katy has worked at WYCAS for 4 years as a Community and Senior Accountant. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), and brings a wealth of management and leadership experience from her previous roles at Leeds University, Imperial College London, and the National Audit Office.

Gary Gordon, Chair of Trustees, commented:

“Katy brings a strong understanding of the organisation, its values, and the communities we serve. Her experience and commitment place her in an excellent position to provide continuity, stability, and leadership during this interim period.”

Current CEO Amanda Peters has been in the role for 7 years and is moving on at the end of this month to develop a new Community Accountancy project in her native Wales.

Amanda added:

“The team at WYCAS provides an outstanding service to hundreds of voluntary and community organisations across North and West Yorkshire. It has been an absolute privilege to work with many of those groups and to see the difference that good quality accounts support can make. I know that Katy will bring passion and commitment to her new role, and I am really pleased that the Board have appointed her as Acting CEO.”

Katy said:

“I am really excited about my new role as Acting CEO – over the past 4 years I have learnt so much from Amanda and my other WYCAS colleagues about community accounting and the voluntary sector generally, and am committed to continuing to improve our services, as well as embracing the challenge of leading WYCAS into its next phase, against the backdrop of an ever-changing external environment.”
